A Law Firm Like No Other

Today, companies are increasingly valued, not by their physical assets, but by the ideas they create. Intellectual property is often the foundation on which a company is formed, and a strong patent portfolio can be very useful in securing venture capital, negotiating licensing and manufacturing agreements, and helping to secure a limited monopoly within the marketplace.
Our patent team understands that for many of our clients, the decision to seek patent protection is among the first in a series of steps related to starting a new business or expanding into a new sector of the market. Many inventors who are unfamiliar with patent law fall prey to invention submission companies that offer patent protection that is often both worthless and expensive.
At Le + Pelletier, LLP, we do not offer our clients get rich quick schemes. Instead, our attorneys objectively and realistically offer advice – not only about whether you can get a patent, but whether you should. At the end of the day, our goal is to provide you with a basis for forming reasonable expectations.
At Le + Pelletier, LLP, we understand the value of expectation. Besides having technical degrees, many of our patent practitioners are former United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) Patent Examiners with years of experience determining patent eligibility. Our team’s litigation experience has given us invaluable insight into judging the strength of patent claims and the likelihood they will withstand litigation.
Patent prosecution requires extensive interaction with the USPTO and it can typically take 2-4 years from filing, depending on circumstances, for an application to successfully issue as a mature patent. Besides regular correspondence by mail, when necessary, our attorneys will travel to Washington, D.C. to conduct in person interviews with examiners. We will also conduct interferences and appeals before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences as well as the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Once your invention has been issued a patent, our attorneys can advise you on how to best protect the rights granted to you by the patent, and offer patent litigation services. Contact us: A Law Firm Like No Other.
